Systane HYDRATION Lubricant Eye Drops combines hyaluronic acid (HA) with hydroxypropyl guar (HP-Guar) to promote greater hydration and lubrication than HA alone.

2x greater moisture retention versus HA alone*1+
Study overview: Human ocular epithelial cell preparations were cultivated and then soaked in various test formulations. After rinsing away the formulations and desiccating the cells, moisture retention on the epithelial surface was significantly greater with Systane HYDRATION compared with HA alone (p<0.001).
After rinsing and drying, 44.4% of cells treated with Systane HYDRATION were viable compared to 21.5% of cells treated with HA alone.

Faster ocular re-epithelialisation vs other HA products
Study overview: Epithelium debridement was performed and randomised HA-containing artificial tear products were instilled for a total of 4 administrations. After 24 hours of debridement, corneas were stained with fluorescein, imaged and analysed to calculate the total fluorescein-positive area and evaluate the number of re-epithelialised corneas (fluorescein negative) in each treatment group.
